Convenient disconnects

Like I mentioned in my previous entry... I get frequest disconnects. More and more it seems that it only happens when I'm winning. Maybe this is stupid to even ask.... but is there a way for your opponent to disconnect you, or screw up your game so you get booted? Am I paranoid?

I heard on GameFaqs that someone was able to make an opponent disconnect, and there was a day i was playing a guy in four player and everyone disconnected, (including me and i did not turn it off) so i would say it is a definite possibility.
